If we return to God through the New Covenant Passover, we receive the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. However, if anyone does not remain in God’s covenant, God will leave them; ultimately, they will face a miserable end as evil spirits enter them just as they did to King Saul and Judas Iscariot.
When King Hezekiah sent messengers to proclaim, “Keep the Passover and return to God,” people in North Israel ridiculed them and mocked them. Ultimately, these people were destroyed. People today who respond in such a fashion, will face the same end as the people of North Israel.
Although there are many churches in the world, only the church that keeps the Passover, which is God’s promise, can be said to have returned to God and be blessed as the church where God is with them.
Hezekiah sent word to all Israel and Judah and also wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh, inviting them to come to the temple of the LORD in Jerusalem and celebrate the Passover . . . return to the LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel. 2 Chronicles 30:1–6
